The Subsuming Vortex is a craftable post-Moon Lord spell tome.
When used with its primary fire (Left Click), it rapidly fires a spread of ~3~ homing vortices, each dealing ~30\%~ of the weapon's damage and piercing infinitely.
When used with its secondary fire (Right Click), it charges up a large vortex that appears on the spell tome, dealing damage on hit. The vortex periodically consumes mana to fire smaller, faster vortices. After about ~1~ second of charging, it can be launched towards the cursor by releasing the FIRE button. After ~4~ seconds, the vortex becomes fully charged and stops firing small vortices. The launched large vortex causes a massive explosion on hit, which rapidly deals damage. The damage of the explosion scales with how long the vortex has been charged, up to ~465\%~ of the weapon's damage.
All of its attacks inflict the debuff.
Its best modifier is Mythical.
Subsuming Vortex was placed at ~\#9~ on the Demonlist, essentially becoming the hardest Nine Circles level.

Notes
- Supreme Soul Seekers take only 60% damage from Subsuming Vortex.
Trivia
- Its primary fire is based on its original function, where it fired ~3~ rebounding discs similarly to the Razorblade Typhoon.
- Subsuming Vortex was rated on ~15~ November ~2025~ and placed at ~\#9~ on the Demonlist a month later on ~15~ December ~2025~, above Silent clubstep and below andromeda.
- This addition pushed Anathema out of the Top 10, Slaughterhouse out of the Top 20, Verdant Landscape into the Extended List, and Axiom Asterism into the Legacy List.
- Subsuming Vortex is currently the hardest rated level published by its verifier, surpassing Kyouki, which had previously held the title for over three years.
- The first victor, wPopoff, initially beat Subsuming Vortex with his microphone turned off, which forced him to rebeat it, which he managed to do roughly two hours later.
- Subsuming Vortex was a former Top ~1~ impossible level on the Impossible Levels List (ILL).
- The level name is a reference to the Calamity Mod spell tome of the same name.
- Subsuming Vortex is often humorously called 'Submissive Vortrox' due to sharing a similar name with the YouTuber.
- In the end, Subsuming Vortex did not surpass Unnerfed Sakupen Circles in difficulty, as according to the Global Demonlist, as the latter is the #6 hardest Demon, while the former sits at #12.
- However, these placements could potentially change, as in the future there will be more victors of both levels, meaning that we will have a more accurate opinion of what both levels' difficulty is.
